2. Collection and storage of personal data

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically collects technical access data (server log files), including your IP address, the date and time of the request, the amount of data transferred, and the requesting provider. This data is required for the secure operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is deleted after 30 days at the latest, unless a legal retention obligation applies.

3. Contact form

If you send us a request via the contact form, we store the details you provide — including your contact information — to process the request and for any follow-up questions (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Delivery happens by email via our hosting provider (IONOS) to the address above. We additionally store your name, organization, email address and an excerpt of your message in a database on the same server so requests can be tracked internally; only the access-restricted internal admin tool at /admin can read this. We do not share this data without your consent.

To prevent abuse (automated mass submissions), the requesting IP address is processed server-side, briefly and solely to limit request frequency (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and is deleted automatically afterwards.

4. Traffic measurement (page views)

We count page views using a self-hosted, non-cookie-based counter on our own server — no third-party analytics service is used, and no cookie consent is required for it. Recorded per page view: the page visited, language setting, referring domain (if any, without any path or query string), device type and the country the visit comes from. The country is determined on our server from your IP address using a local database (IP Geolocation by DB-IP, CC BY 4.0); your IP address is not sent to anyone, and only the country code is stored, never a city or precise location. Your IP address itself is never stored: it is only briefly folded into a secret-keyed, day-rotating checksum that cannot be reversed back to your IP address and looks different again the next day. The measurement only takes place if you agree to it in the privacy notice on your first visit (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without your consent, no page views are recorded. You can change or withdraw your decision at any time via “Privacy settings” in the page footer; withdrawal takes effect for the future.

5. Cookies and local storage

This website stores your language and theme (light/dark) preference as strictly necessary data in your browser's local storage (localStorage), not as a cookie. We also store your choice in the privacy notice there and ask again after twelve months at the latest. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us.

6. Your rights

You have the right at any time to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to the processing of your personal data held by us.
